Based in Oklahoma City, Alan is the Deputy Secretary of the Chickasaw Nation Department of Commerce and is the president of Sovereign Native Holdco. Alan’s primary responsibilities include strategic planning, assisting in diversification efforts, and corporate development for both Sovereign Native Holdco and Pennington Creek. Alan was instrumental in the creation of Pennington Creek and Good Springs Capital, an additional private investment entity of the Chickasaw Nation located in New York City.
Alan began his career as a certified public accountant for KPMG Peat Marwick, a national accounting firm. Thereafter, he spent 23 years at Devon Energy Corporation and assisted in the growth of the company from $200 million to over $30 billion at its peak. Alan has extensive experience in project management, information technology, and real estate services, serving on the construction team of Devon Energy Tower in downtown Oklahoma City.
Originally from Pauls Valley outside of Oklahoma City, Alan graduated from East Central University on a football scholarship with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance.
In his free time Alan enjoys running, skiing, and working out. Alan also serves on numerous boards including International Bank of Commerce and Dreamscape Entertainment and is the president of the Civic Center Foundation which manages the performing arts of the Oklahoma City area.
